How-to setup the headset


  • unwrap the headset so that the module is in the left hand
  • set the 3 central (flat) electrodes in the middle
  • place the central electrodes on the forehead
  • wrap the right flap over the head
  • wrap the left flap and fasten it
  • clip the earlobe electrode



How-to neurofeedback


Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, is a process that uses real-time displays of brain activity to teach self-regulation of brain functions.

During a neurofeedback session, one tries to modify their brain activity to reach a more desired state, often to improve mental conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, and other neurological disorders.

Training sessions typically last about 5-20 minutes and may require multiple sessions over several weeks or months. The goal of neurofeedback is to effect lasting changes in brain activity that can support general well-being and alleviate symptoms of various neurological and psychological conditions.


Use gaming activities to train self-control with neurofeedback.

There are several neurofeedback indexes:

Meditation
This index represents the alpha rhythm - the rhythm of relaxation.

To acheive relaxation one can try to:
  • Sit comfortably on a chair
  • Breath deeply and regularly
  • Clear thoughts
  • Imagine a peaceful setting, e.g. seaside, forest or campfire

Concentration
This index represents the beta rhythm which rises on high cognitive activity.

To acheive concentration one can try to:
  • Continuously add up 2-digit numbers
  • Focus attention to an object and loop through it's details or properties
  • Remember a poem

Attention
The training is designed to form calm attention, to relieve from tension and anxiety.

During sessions try to relax and observe calmly, keeping your attention on something.

SMR
Sensorimotor rhythm shows tension, often body tension as well. Trainings with SMR are used for hyperactivity, attention disorders, epilepsy, migraines.

During sessions it is necessary to focus on completing the task, increase concentration, try to remove all motor activity and muscle tension, especially in the neck, shoulders and face.
